I don’t want to be the man I wanted to marry.

“We became the men we wanted to marry.”

It’s Gloria Steinam’s 90th birthday and while I celebrate the progress we’ve made as women, I was deeply saddened to read this quote and to think of the way we’ve forced ourselves to suffer as women by trying to become equal to men.

I don’t want to be the man I wanted to marry. 🤢

I want my man to be that man so I can be free to happily be the woman I’ve always wanted to be.

Unencumbered by the tktk pressure to perform, to produce, to compete in a race that was never designed to benefit me anyway.

I’m gonna do it my way and I’m gonna help other women give themselves the permission to do everything in a way that feels right for us and our families too.

Who’s with me?

I don’t want to be the man I wanted to marry.
